Face Coverings

Students and staff will be required to wear masks inside the building at all times, regardless of vaccination status. Our students did a great job wearing masks last year!

Outdoor mask wearing is not a requirement. However, since masks have been identified as an effective prevention strategy and elementary students are not eligible for vaccines, we will be giving guidance for outdoor mask wearing that will be determined by the event and ability to physically distance.

Community members and visitors will be required to wear masks to enter the building and recommended to wear any time on campus at all times regardless of vaccination status.

Staff and students may use their own face coverings if they meet the Center for Disease Control (CDC) guidelines listed below. If a student or staff member forgets to bring, misplaces or loses their face covering, a disposable 3-ply mask will be available for use for the remainder of the day.

The CDC describes a cloth face covering as:

  • Fabric covering over mouth and nose.
  • Fit snuggly, but comfortably and against the side of the face.
  • Be secured with ties or ear loops.
  • Include multiple layers of fabric.
  • Allow for breathing without restriction.
  • Be able to be laundered and machine dried without damage or change to shape.

The CDC has found that gators, bandanas and scarves are not as protective as cloth face masks.

Therefore, they are not an acceptable form of face covering.

Signage is posted to enforce face coverings, personal hygiene and transmission prevention practices.
