Welcome! We are so excited that your child will be coming to Ella Baker for kindergarten. Our staff is passionate about giving each child a fantastic start to their education. Please save these dates for kindergarten events:

June 11, 2026 ~ Step-Up to Kindergarten ~ 9:30AM to 10:30AM
Future kindergarteners will spend the morning in the classrooms while parents/guardians enjoy optional social.

This event is for parents/guardians and future kindergarteners! Students and families can meet Principal Bilanko, learn about our school, tour the building, and have some fun. Please contact Moriah Oster by May 16th if you are unable to attend Step-Up to Kindergarten. 425-936-2790.

Questionnaires Due

Please return the Ella Baker Kindergarten Questionnaire to the office at Step-Up to Kindergarten.

August 20, 2026 ~ Kindergarten Playdate 4PM
Kindergarteners will socialize and play outside. This event is organized by a parent/guardian volunteer.

August 27, 2026 ~ Kindergarten Orientation ~ 12:30PM to 1:00PM
Parents will learn IMPORTANT logistical information about kindergarten from the teachers. Students will engage in fun activities followed by the all school Meet and Greet.

Sign-ups for the 20-minute Family Connection meeting held August 31st, September 1st, or 2nd will be included.

August 27, 2026 ~ All School Meet & Greet ~ 1:00PM-2:00PM
This event is for parents/guardians and kindergarteners! Students will meet their teacher, see their classroom, and meet classmates!

August 31-September 2 ~ Kindergarten Family Connections ~ By appointment

September 3 ~ Kindergarten Group A (TBD) Half Day ~Half of the Kindergarten students will spend time with both teachers learning Kindergarten routines and procedures while having fun! The other half of the students will stay home.

September 4 ~ Kindergarten Group B (TBD) Half Day ~ Half of the Kindergarten students will spend time with both teachers learning Kindergarten routines and procedures while having fun! The other half of the students will stay home.

September 4 ~ Teacher Assignment Day
After school on September 4th, families will receive a message from a Kindergarten teacher with the final class placement.
