Welcome! We are so excited that your child will be coming to Ella Baker for kindergarten. Our staff is passionate about giving each child a fantastic start to their education. We strongly believe in building relationships prior to school starting. In person registration day is February 22, 2024 from 1pm to 5pm. At 4:30pm that evening is a Welcome Event for parents of incoming kindergarteners and their student. Other events:
May 10 ~ Questionnaires Due: Please return the Ella Baker Kindergarten Questionnaires to the office by this date. Also, Preschool Teacher Input form should be mailed to Ella Baker by May 10th.
June 6 ~ Step Up to Kindergarten Day ~ 9:30AM to 10:30AM: Future kindergarteners will spend the morning in the classrooms while parents/guardians enjoy an optional social opportunity. Please contact Jill Brunke by May 17th if you are unable to attend Step-Up to Kindergarten at 425-936-2790
August 21 ~ Kindergarten Playdate: Kindergarteners will socialize and play outside. This event is organized by the parent/guardian volunteer.
August 29 ~ Teacher Assignment Day: Families will receive an email from their student's new teacher, along with sign-up instructions for their 20 minute Family Connections meeting to be held September 3-5.
August 29 ~ Kindergarten Orientation ~ 12:30PM to 1:00PM: Parents will learn IMPORTANT logistical information about Kindergarten from the teachers. Students will engage in fun activities followed by the all school Meet and Greet.
September 3-5 ~ Kindergarten Family Connections ~ By appointment. Information coming
September 6 ~ Kindergarten Group A (TBD) Half Day
September 9 ~ Kindergarten Group B (TBD) Half Day
September 10 ~ All Kindergarten First Day of School
